Setup on OpenAI

Getting started on ChatGPT and Codex

Before you start

You need a Chronulus account. The plugin connects your assistant to the hosted Chronulus server, and you sign in with your Chronulus account the first time you use it. Requests are paid from a pre-paid wallet, so add funds at console.chronulus.com before you run your first forecast or prediction.

Codex

Add the Chronulus marketplace from your terminal:

Terminal
$codex plugin marketplace add ChronulusAI/plugin-marketplace

Then open the Plugins directory in Codex and install chronulus from the ChronulusAI/plugin-marketplace marketplace.

If you see unexpected argument 'marketplace', your Codex executable does not have this command. Update Codex with the package manager you installed it with. For an npm installation, run:

Terminal
$npm install -g @openai/codex@latest

Then try again. If the error persists, run type -a codex to check whether another installation is taking precedence on your PATH.

ChatGPT

The same plugin works on ChatGPT. The Chronulus server includes interactive scorecards built for ChatGPT, so your forecasts and predictions appear as charts and cards in the conversation.

Try it

Start a message with a slash command, then describe what you want:

Codex or ChatGPT
/forecast monthly foot traffic across the Brooklyn Bridge over the next 12 months
Codex or ChatGPT
/predict Will the FOMC hike, hold, or cut its target rate at its next meeting?

The plugin includes three skills:

  • forecast produces time-series forecasts with an explanation, with no historical data required.
  • predict produces calibrated probabilities for yes-or-no questions and for questions with several outcomes.
  • report helps you report a problem or an idea to Chronulus. Nothing is sent until you approve it.

More

The plugin is open source. See the plugin marketplace on GitHub for the full details. Using Claude? See Setup on Anthropic.
